Why split PDFs with FileSeb

This tool runs entirely inside your browser using JavaScript — your PDF is read into your device's memory, split apart there, and handed back to you as a download. It's never uploaded to a server, which matters if the document is private or confidential.

Note this tool splits every page into its own file — it's built for the "I need each page separately" case. If you only want to pull a specific range of pages out of a larger document rather than split every single page, the Extract PDF Pages tool is the better fit.

What this tool actually does — and doesn't do

This tool breaks a single PDF into separate files — one PDF per page — bundled together as a ZIP archive you download in one click. Each file is named after the original, like report-page-1.pdf, so you always know which part is which.

It's built for the most common case: "I need page 3 of this 40-page document as its own file." What it doesn't do: it doesn't split by chapters or headings — that requires text-aware analysis — and it doesn't give you a preview of pages before splitting. It treats every page equally.

Because everything runs in your browser, even a very long document splits quickly, and the original file never leaves your device.

How to split a PDF, step by step

  1. Add your PDF. The preview shows the pages so you can see what you are working with.
  2. Choose the split mode. Every page can become its own PDF, delivered together as a ZIP; page ranges let you pull out just the section you need.
  3. Split and download. You get one file per page (or one per range), named clearly so nothing gets lost.

Limits worth knowing

Each output page is an exact copy of the original — no re-rendering, no quality loss. A 200-page document produces 200 small PDFs; the ZIP is the easiest way to take them all at once. Encrypted PDFs must be unlocked before splitting.

Privacy

Splitting runs in your browser's memory. Close the tab and every trace is gone.
