Being upfront here matters: this tool removes a background by detecting pixels that are close in color to the background and making them transparent — it does not use AI object recognition to identify "this is a person, keep it" the way some paid tools do. That means it genuinely excels at the classic case — a product photo, a passport-style portrait, anything shot against a plain, solid-colored backdrop — and it will struggle with a busy, multi-colored, or textured background.

How to remove a background, step by step
- Add your photo. Pick a picture where the subject stands against a reasonably even background — a wall, a plain floor, studio paper. The tool analyzes the colors connected to the edges of the photo, so a clean backdrop gives the cleanest cutout.
- Read the live preview. The result appears beside the original as soon as the file loads — you see the cutout before you commit to anything. The checkerboard pattern means transparency, not gray pixels: those areas are genuinely empty in the exported PNG.
- Adjust sensitivity if needed. Raise the slider if background patches survived; lower it if the tool nibbled into hair, clothing edges, or a shoulder. Every change re-renders the preview instantly.
- Download the transparent PNG. The output keeps a real alpha channel, so you can drop it straight onto a slide, a product page, or another photo.
